An interesting twist in what can be a challenge to get kids to eat their veggies: the Blue Zones Project in Cedar Rapids, which promotes healthy living, is teaming up with Theatre Cedar Rapids and other organizations for cooking classes for children.
Actors and actresses from Shrek the Musical will be on hand to talk about all things fairy tale while kids in the class learn about healthy eating.

Blue Zones Project is hosting Purpose Week – offering 6 Purpose Workshops, all FREE and open to the public to attend, during the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of December.
A Purpose Workshop is a 2-hour event in which a facilitator guides you through various fun and interactive activities to begin the journey to finding your individual purpose.
Keep in mind that there are three primary ways of uncovering your gifts:
• Your gifts are reflected in what you do best.
• Your gifts show up in how you like to serve.
• Your gifts are being used when you lose yourself in a task.

Walk the Skywalk with Blue Zones:
Blue Zones Project is hosting a 10-week walking program throughout the downtown Skywalk. So come in out of the cold and continue your walking in a controlled environment. This is a great opportunity to walk with friends, co-workers, or simply meet new friends! Attend at least 3 times to receive a Blue Zones Project t-shirt!
All walks depart from the Downtown Public Library and are as follows:
Tuesdays: 9:00 AM
Thursdays: 5:10 PM
We will not walk on the following days: December 24 and 25; January 1.
A team leader will meet the group on the first floor of the Downtown Public Library for check-in. Upon departure, the group will proceed to the second floor of the library to connect with the Skywalk. Feel free to join one of these groups, or all four if you wish! We hope to see you there!
Parking at the Downtown Public Library is free. Please RSVP by following the link below.
