The farmers market season has been underway for a good month now, but this Saturday, June 4, is one that many in the Cedar Rapids area anticipate, with the first Downtown Farmers Market of the season taking place from 7:30 a.m. to noon.
Presented by the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, the market has become one of the largest open-air markets in the Midwest, with an average of 14,000 customers visiting each one.
More than 200 local Iowa vendors will be offering fresh produce, a variety of baked goods, artisan gifts, meats and dairy products.
Following the reopening of Greene Square last month, the market is moving back to the area surrounding the park this year. See map.
In addition, the popular night-time market is returning in August.
