Learn more about the event from VegFest:
Veganism and vegetarianism are increasingly recognized as the most healthful of diets, good for the heart, lowering cholesterol, reversing diabetes, controlling one’s weight and for general health.
They are also one of the most practical ways an individual can impact climate change and prevent the suffering of other living creatures.
A celebration of ethical eating and a plant-based, whole-food diet, the VegFest of Eastern Iowa, set for Sept. 29 from 10:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., will feature well-known speakers such as Dr. Adam Woods (Thriving with a Plant-Based Diet), Robert Grillo (What the Food Industry Doesn’t Want You to Know), and Dr. Mylan Engel (Eating for Health, the Earth and Animals).
A vegan marketplace, cooking classes, and other presentations will also be featured. Admission is $5 for adults, and free for kids under 18. Advance ticket purchase recommended, though tickets will be available at the door.
Sponsored by the Unitarian Universalist Society and the Vegan Community of Eastern Iowa.
