CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Freedom Festival organizers announced a new food event that will serve as a fundraiser for the popular festival in Cedar Rapids.
The event, Freedom FEASTival, is set for 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, May 3, on the downtown Second Avenue Bridge, more than a month before the annual festival begins in June.

The Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival is thrilled to unveil a brand new event that promises to be a feast for the senses – Freedom FEASTival. At this free event, taking place on Friday, May 3rd from 11am-7pm, attendees will explore a celebration of local culinary delights from food trucks and community vendors throughout the picturesque 2nd Avenue Bridge in Downtown Cedar Rapids. The event will serve as a fundraiser for the festival at large.
“We are excited to introduce Freedom FEASTival as a new and delicious addition that will take place outside of our typical festival dates,” said Marnie Schultz, Events and Marketing Director of The Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival. “This event reflects our commitment to bringing the community together and celebrating the diverse flavors that our local culinary scene has to offer.”

The Cedar Rapids Freedom Festival, scheduled to take place from June 14th through July 4th, promises to be an unforgettable celebration filled with family-friendly activities, live entertainment, delicious food, and a spectacular fireworks display. Festival buttons, which serve as an all-access pass to the various festival events, will be available for purchase at area Hy-Vees with all proceeds supporting the festival’s mission to bring joy and community spirit to Cedar Rapids.
