CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — High humidity and temperatures in the 80s made this year’s Market After Dark a hot one in downtown Cedar Rapids.
The heat did not deter the crowds, as thousands of people flooded the streets for the popular free event, now in its ninth year.

With attendance averaging 30,000 to 50,000 people, Market After Dark features live music and other entertainment, along with more than 125 vendors and adult beverage tents.
Changes this year included more beer tents and a craft brew tent, serving select beers and wine unavailable at the other six beer tent locations.
The band, Vandello, was among the main stage entertainment at this year’s Market After Dark, hosted by the Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance.
