Every year, the Cedar Rapids woman hopes for a Christmas miracle.
Her niece was born on Dec. 23, 1963, or around that day, and was adopted by a Catholic couple in Cedar Rapids.
The woman, who asked not to be named to protect the privacy of her sister — the girl’s mother — said efforts to find the identity of her niece have been unsuccessful, but she would like to meet her.
She was likely adopted through a Catholic adoption agency by a couple at All Saints Church in Cedar Rapids, she said. The couple may also have adopted a boy.
The aunt, who has taken Ancestry and “23 & Me” DNA tests with no luck yet, has reason to believe her niece tried to find her birth parents at one point in time.
She would love to find the niece she has never met, who will turn 59 this year.
If anyone knows who the niece might be, a message can be left below, and passed along to her aunt.

If she stayed in CR then she probably was in the class of 1981 at LaSalle or Regis.
That’s a good point, Bob. The aunt believes they moved, but wasn’t sure where.
https://adoption.com/ I highly recommend registering on as many adoption sites as you can. Years of waiting and watching can be resolved in days. Good luck!
Thank you, Kathy! I’ll pass this along.
