CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — April weather can be a tossup in Iowa, with winter-like days, or picture-perfect ones, as welcomed visitors to EcoFest 2025.
The popular Earth Day celebration began in 2010 and was held this year on Saturday, April 26, at NewBo City Market, 1100 Third St. SE.
While the day started with a blustery wind, sunshine and mild temperatures warmed the crowds, as opposed to the past two years when visitors and volunteers braved biting winds and near freezing temperatures.

Barnyard animals, birds of prey and live music were among this year’s features.
The celebration extended to the nearby Cherry Building, with an art sale and more.
EcoFest was started to help visitors connect personal choices to individual, community and planetary sustainability.
