Every year she hopes for a Christmas miracle: the chance to meet the girl her sister gave up for adoption.

This year, that baby girl would be turning 60.

The woman, who does not want to be identified to protect the privacy of her sister — the girl’s mother — said a couple from All Saints Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids adopted the infant through a Catholic adoption agency, and perhaps a boy, as well.

Her niece was born on, or within a day of Dec. 23, 1963.

The aunt took the Ancestry and the “23 & Me” DNA tests with no luck yet. If anyone knows who her niece might be, leave a message and we can put you in touch with her.
