I wouldn’t have an excellent set of cross-country skis if not for the Indian Creek Nature Center.
The Nature Center holds an annual outdoor gear silent auction, along with a chili luncheon, which is where I found my great skis and of course, tried some great chili.
I’m equally grateful to the Nature Center for many of my Christmas tree ornaments. Wreaths, garlands and other natural decorations are sold at the annual Nature’s Noel, with area craftspeople also selling their holiday gifts.
Both events are happening soon at the Indian Creek Nature Center, 6665 Otis Rd. SE, in Cedar Rapids. Here is information from the Nature Center about both:

When it’s time to deck the halls, it’s time for Nature’s Noel! Held annually on the first Saturday in December, the Nature Center grounds are adorned with beautiful fresh-cut evergreens fashioned into wreaths, centerpieces, kissing balls, swags and yule logs, all available for purchase to make your home festive for the holidays!
Come inside the barn for beautiful holiday crafts and stock up on delicious homemade food items including breads, jellies, candies and more. Enjoy a hot beverage while you shop.
Take the hassle out of holiday entertaining by stocking your freezer with oven-ready hors d’oeuvres, cookie dough and soups. Local vendors fill the auditorium with gorgeous gifts, too! Live music and carolers ensure you’ll be in the holiday spirit.
Need to make room for more festive holiday baubles? Bring your unwanted holiday decor to Noel’s Attic at Nature’s Noel, where it will be repurposed.
Nature’s Noel is presented by the Nature Center Guild and staff. All proceeds benefit Indian Creek Nature Center’s mission.
