For mushroom lovers who can’t find morels, or anyone else with an interest in fungi, Prairiewoods is offering a workshop on growing mushrooms.

Joyful Gardening: Grow Your Own Mushrooms

Do you want to grow your own mushrooms? Learn the ins and outs of mushroom cultivation on hardwood logs on Thursday, April 20, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

This is a hands-on workshop at Prairiewoods (120 East Boyson Road in Hiawatha) in which you’ll help establish shiitake and oyster mushroom logs.

Facilitator Todd Mills also will teach you inoculation techniques, log care and stacking methods for both incubation and cultivation.
