Could anyone have asked for a more beautiful day to kick off the 10th anniversary season of the Downtown Farmers Market?

The combination of picture-perfect weather and a long stretch since the final market of last year brought out the crowds to buy lettuce, radishes, strawberries, jams, local wines and cheese, handcrafted items and more. Too much to list, so, if you missed out, skim through the photos and plan to make it to the next market.

More than 200 vendors packed downtown Cedar Rapids on Third Street SE and surrounding avenues, from First to Fifth Avenue SE.

The next Downtown Farmers Market runs from 7:30 a.m. to noon on June 20; followed by markets on July 4 and 18; Aug. 1 and 15 and Sept. 5 and 19. To mark its 10th anniversary, the Downtown Farmers Market also will host a new Market After Dark, from 7:30 p.m. to midnight on Saturday, Aug. 29.
