
CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Customers enjoyed pleasant weather during opening day of the 2026 Downtown Farmers Market.

Now in its 21st year, the market features 200 vendors lining the streets of downtown Cedar Rapids, selling prepared foods, fresh produce, cheese, wine, honey, handcrafted items, baked goods, eggs, fresh flowers, plants and more.
Farmers sold early-season produce, such as asparagus, rhubarb, radishes and onions, as mild temperatures in the 70s greeted market-goers on Saturday, May 30, 2026.

A juggler, musicians and singers entertained the crowds and Friends of the Cedar Rapids Public Library hosted a book sale.
The Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance, which hosts the downtown markets, estimates attendance at each market at 12,000 people.
Regular hours are 7:30 a.m. to noon on June 6 & 20; July 18; Aug. 1 & 15 and Sept. 5 & 19. The popular Market After Dark is scheduled for 6:30-11 p.m. Aug. 29.
