CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — After returning in 2022 since a hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Easter Showcase is underway again.

The free event — where visitors can view tropical plants, cacti, seedlings and other plants that grow in the greenhouse — was not held in 2020 or 2021.

This year’s Easter Showcase is 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 8, and Sunday, April 9 at the Noelridge Greenhouse, 4900 Council Street NE.

The event, hosted by Friends of Noelridge, allows the public to explore the tropical plants, houseplants and even fish in the greenhouse.

Unique fairy gardens and native plants will be for sale and other vendors will be on hand.

The Easter Showcase began in 1973, marking its 50th anniversary this year.
