The farmers market season is winding down, at least for the large-scale markets held in Downtown Cedar Rapids.

Just two more of these remain, including one this Saturday, Sept. 7, from 7:30 a.m. to noon. The last will be Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013.

The Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance notes that more than 220 vendors will be on hand selling only grown-in or made-in Iowa produce, crafts, jewelry and more.

Free parking is available in the Fourth Avenue and GTC Ramps, the Great America Building parking lot and on-street parking. Handicap parking is free and available in the Guaranty Bank lot on Second Avenue SE.

Some outdoor markets already ended their seasons at the end of August, but many remain open into late October and a growing number operate as winter markets, too. Find a list of those in Eastern Iowa on the Homegrown farmers market list.
