Squirrels and rabbits are common visitors in my neighborhood in northeast Cedar Rapids, along with the occasional raccoon or opossum. But these tracks through the snow earlier this week surprised me. They seemed quite deep, so I wondered if it could have been a heavier animal, such as a deer. In more than 15 years of living here – fortunately for my hosta – I’ve never seen a deer near my home. I found this great Animal Track Identification Guide from Study Works Online and believe I can safely rule out armadillos and grizzly bears. 🙂 If you can tell what these are, please let me know!

Here is the ID Guide.
