Short notice, but you’ll be in for a treat if you can make it to Prairiewoods in Hiawatha, this Wednesday, March 18.

Prairiewoods is hosting a “Meet the Farmer” event with Grinnell Heritage Farm, which includes a potluck dinner.

I visited the farm several years ago when they first moved to organic certification. Their produce can now be found at numerous outlets, including farmers markets and at New Pioneer Food Co-op.

Read on for more from Prairiewoods about this Wednesday’s event:

Join us for a potluck style dinner with Grinnell Heritage Farm, learn about what a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is, sample vegetables from the farm and talk one on one with GHF farmers. Please bring a side dish to share.  GHF will provide a soup for the main course.  GHF is the largest certified organic fruit and vegetable farm in Iowa and they have a CSA drop-off location at Prairiewoods.
