The coronavirus pandemic temporarily suspended the opening of outdoor farmers markets last spring, but indoor markets already are on-track to start this fall.

Some markets are requiring vendors and customers to wear face masks to help control spread of the virus and at least two are relocating for this season.

The Dubuque Winter Farmers Market, which opens Saturday, Nov. 7, is moving to the former Younkers men’s store at Kennedy Mall, 555 John F. Kennedy Rd., in Dubuque.

Dubuque’s market features about 35 regional vendors selling seasonal produce, eggs, meats, cheeses, honey, maple syrup, starter plants, herbs, baked goods and more.

The market is among those requiring both vendors and guests to wear face masks, along with social distancing measures.

Urbana’s indoor market, which starts Saturday, Nov. 14, also is relocating this season. The market will operate from the American Legion Hall, 204 W. Wood St., from 9-11 a.m. on the second Saturday of every month.
