Fresh produce, eggs, honey, jams, baked goods, flowers, plants, maple syrup, meats and more can be found at Iowa farmers markets, which start their outdoor season this week.
Already, a farmers market in Waterloo had its first market of the season on Thursday, May 1, 2025. Cedar Valley at Shiloh Baptist Church offers its weekly markets from 3-6 p.m.
That first market will be followed by many others in Eastern Iowa that kick off this Saturday, May 3, including established markets in Iowa City, Cedar Falls, Dubuque, Marion, Guttenberg and Decorah, and Hiawatha’s market on Sunday, May 4.

Marion’s market is moving from Taube Park to Willowood Park this year, at 1855 35th St., where organizers said there will be more parking and space for more vendors.
Other markets have also made a move, with new locations noted on the list, below.
Iowa’s farmers markets offer in-season produce, so the first markets of the season generally feature early vegetables such as green onions and radishes, plus plants and other items, with producers adding more as the season progresses.
