CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — More than 100 people turned out on a chilly morning in Cedar Rapids to encourage early voting in the midterm elections.

The gathering Oct. 17, 2026, at Greene Square was among thousands of “No Kings” rallies held nationwide.

Advocates held signs stating “No Kings, Just Voters,” “Complacency kills democracy,” and more.

Speakers encouraged attendees to vote early so their voices would be heard and to vote that day at the Cedar Rapids Public Library, where residents could cast their ballot in-person from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Early voting for the Nov. 3 election continues at the downtown library, 450 Fifth Ave. SE, on Sunday, Oct. 18, from 1:30-4:30 p.m., as well as at the Busse Branch, 1845 Sandberg Lane SW, during the same hours.
