It might seem too soon, but it will be time to “spring ahead” this weekend with Daylight Saving Time.

The change happens at 2 a.m. Sunday, March 12, 2023, the second Sunday of March. While we lose an hour of sleep, we “gain” an hour of daylight.

While much of the snow has melted in Iowa, it still feels like winter, with the possibility of more snow in the coming days, but Daylight Saving Time is one of the signals that spring is on its way.

Remember to set your clocks forward by one hour before going to bed this Saturday night. The switch back to Standard Time happens the first Sunday in November.
