Iowa has just six electoral votes, but an indication of the tight race here was evidenced with visits by both Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump on the same day.hillary-nasty-sign

Clinton appeared outside the NewBo City Market in Cedar Rapids this afternoon, with Trump’s visit scheduled for later in the night.

During remarks that lasted about 30 minutes, Clinton did not address a new angle happening in the FBI investigation into her emails, but spoke about the recent flooding in Cedar Rapids, which affected the New Bohemia district, as well as equal pay for women, parental leave, students being able to afford college and a promise to not raise taxes on Americans earning under $250,000 a year.

Trump immediately gloated about the FBI investigation into Clinton’s emails as he addressed the crowd at his rally at the McGrath Amphitheatre, amid chants of “lock her up.” He drew cheers for his line about building a “great” wall on the border and having Mexico pay for it and for his priority, if elected, to repeal Obamacare. The rally opened with a prayer and ended with fireworks over the Cedar River.
