CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Visitors can step into the warmth of the Noelridge Greenhouse this weekend during the annual Easter Showcase.

The showcase will be 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 19, and Sunday, April 20, 2025, at the Noelridge Greenhouse, 4900 Council St. NE.

Admission is free. The first 500 children, ages 12 years and under, will receive a free plant.

Bright blooms, whimsical fairy gardens, and gardening inspiration await at the annual Noelridge Greenhouse Easter Showcase, happening Saturday, April 19 and Sunday, April 20, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 4900 Council Street NE. Admission is free.

Often called a “hidden gem” of Cedar Rapids, Noelridge Greenhouse opens its doors for this special springtime event, welcoming visitors to explore lush displays and connect with local plant experts and makers. The Showcase combines education, creativity, and community in a vibrant greenhouse setting.

Located at the corner of Collins Road and Council Street NE, Noelridge Greenhouse grows and manages more than 60,000 plants each year, including annuals, perennials, and native varieties used throughout Cedar Rapids parks and public spaces. The Easter Showcase is an opportunity for the public to experience this unique space firsthand.

Event highlights include:

  • A free Polka Dot plant for the first 500 children aged 12 and under
  • More than 160 handcrafted fairy gardens for sale by Friends of Noelridge, with proceeds supporting improvements like murals and the children’s garden
  • Expert gardening advice from the Linn County Master Gardeners, Hashbarger Hosta Society, and Eastern Iowa Orchid Society—plus plants for sale beginning at $4
  • Nature-inspired shopping with local vendors offering:
    • Gourd art and “Thunder Gourds” from Natural Whimsy
    • Vintage glass succulent arrangements from Designs by Dania
    • Pressed flower greeting cards
    • Gardening books from Midwest Garden Gal
    • Nature photography, biodegradable garden signs, wooden yard art, and more

Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or simply ready to welcome spring, the Easter Showcase offers something for everyone young and old—and a rare peek inside one of the City’s most beloved spaces.
