Two exceptional events are happening this weekend in Cedar Rapids, and fortunately, you won’t have to choose between them.

The annual Brucemore Garden & Art Show returns from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. this Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016, followed by Market After Dark, the nighttime version of the Cedar Rapids Downtown Farmers Market, from 6:30 to 11 p.m.

Market After Dark debuted last year to mark the 10th anniversary of the Downtown Farmers Market, with an overwhelming response. The Cedar Rapids Metro Economic Alliance is bringing it back, with more vendors – 90 this year – entertainment and a few tweaks.

One of those tweaks is expanding the footprint to lessen congestion; another is a change in the alcohol rules. Customers of participating downtown bars will be allowed to carry beer or wine from those establishments throughout the market venue. See more about the new rules and find a map of the market at the Economic Alliance website.
