CEDAR RAPIDS – The Indian Creek Nature Center is saying good-bye to an old friend, at least for one occasion.

To mark the last Nature’s Noel at its headquarters in a historic dairy barn, the Nature Center’s Guild will sell commemorative plates, ceramic ornaments and gingerbread cookies in the shape of the barn during the Dec. 5 event.

Anyone who has attended Nature’s Noel knows what beautiful treasures can be found for sale, along with tasty soups and other goodies, but the barn is a treasure in itself that will hopefully find a new use when the Nature Center moves to its new headquarters next year.

Learn more about this year’s Nature’s Noel from the Indian Creek Nature Center:

The Indian Creek Nature Center Guild presents its annual holiday market, Nature’s Noel, on Saturday, December 5th from 9 a.m. to noon at Indian Creek Nature Center, 6665 Otis Road SE.

This fundraiser features fresh greenery, homemade goodies, artisan gifts, and holiday items in a festive atmosphere at the old dairy barn, which has served as the Nature Center headquarters for more than 40 years.

To mark the event’s last year at this historic location, available for purchase will be a commemorative plate, a ceramic ornament and gingerbread cookies in the shape of the barn.

Shoppers can choose from an outstanding selection of fresh evergreen arrangements for holiday décor, including one-of-a-kind kissing balls, festive centerpieces, hanging baskets, tree toppers, wreaths and swags. All are handmade from fresh, select greenery.

Shoppers can also stock their pantries for the holidays with homemade frozen appetizers and soups, specialty cookie dough, and holiday baked goods. Noel’s Attic, held in the upper level of the barn, will feature unique gifts, handmade crafts and vintage treasures from a variety of vendors.

Live music adds to the festive atmosphere at this sale, but it’s only three hours long, so shoppers are encouraged to come early for the best selection! Volunteers will be available to assist with carryout.

This fundraiser supports the mission and programs of Indian Creek Nature Center.
