With the snow finally melted in Iowa, the past week has felt more like spring, so this weekend will be a timely switch as we “spring ahead” with our clocks to Daylight Saving Time.

The change happens at 2 a.m. Sunday, March 14, 2021, the second Sunday of March. While we lose an hour of sleep, we “gain” an hour of daylight.

This being Iowa, of course, just when you think winter might be done, think again. The upcoming week will take a turn back, with colder temperatures and snow in the forecast for Monday.

Remember to set your clocks forward by one hour before going to bed this Saturday night. The switch back to Standard Time happens the first Sunday in November.
