This is shaping up to be a busy weekend in Eastern Iowa, with three garden walks scheduled in the Cedar Rapids-Iowa City Corridor.

Both the Linn County Master Gardeners and Project GREEN have walks scheduled on Saturday, July 12, 2014, and the Eastern Iowa Pond Society has its tour set for the next day, on Sunday, July 13.

Proceeds from the pond society’s tour will benefit Honor Flights, which take our veterans for a one-day trip to see war monuments in Washington, D.C., as well as the Kirkwood Community College scholarship fund.

I’ve been on past pond tours and even if you have no space or desire to build a pond of your own, it’s a great way to see gorgeous gardens and relax with the backdrop of tranquil waters.

Eastern Iowa Pond Society Pond & Garden Tour 2014

Sunday, July 13, 2014
11 AM to 4 PM – rain or shine
$5.00 per adult
Kids under 12 years old – free

Featuring the ponds of the Eastern Iowa Pond Society.

Wristbands (tickets) and maps are available at each pond the day of the tour.

The Tour includes:

  • 8 unique ponds & water features around the Eastern Iowa area.

Water Plant & Used Equipment Sale at the 2055 H Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids location.
