In case you missed the Easter Showcase last month, you’ll soon have another chance to visit the Noelridge Greenhouse.

The free milkweed plant given with each purchase, in itself, is a great reason to go to the Mother’s Day Showcase, to help our monarch butterflies. In addition, you’ll see row upon row of flowers and a room full of stunning tropical plants.

Here is more from the City of Cedar Rapids about the event:

The annual Mother’s Day Showcase is Sunday, May 10 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Noelridge Greenhouse, 4900 Council Street NE.

Admission is free of charge. Visitors will enjoy seeing approximately 4000 different varieties of plants as well as educational exhibits featuring bonsai, beekeeping, orchids, pollinators and butterflies. Kathleen Zeimer from Butterfliz of Iowa will exhibit from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m., with a special presentation at 1:00 p.m.

In addition, professionally designed hanging baskets, New Guinea Impatiens and Coleus plants, glass birdbaths and birdfeeders, and handcrafted cards and jewelry will be available for sale. With each purchase, shoppers will receive a free butterfly milkweed plant.
