Marion has an ideal, centrally located site for its farmers market at City Square Park, with a depot pavilion providing cover against the backdrop of the historic Main Street District.
It was disappointing to hear the decision to end the Wednesday markets earlier this summer, but the Saturday markets continue, and a new Uptown Fall Market coming up on Saturday, Sept. 27, promises to be quite an event.
The Uptown Markets, presented by the Marion Chamber, are held monthly in June, July and August; this is the first time a fall market has been added in September.
You still have time to shop at the regular Saturday markets, which run 8-11:30 a.m. Saturdays, through Sept. 20 in the depot at City Square Park, Seventh Avenue and 10th Street. The Uptown Market will run at slightly different hours, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sept. 27.
