Hundreds of gardening enthusiasts gathered to dream of warmer days ahead as the Winter Gardening Fair resumed its popular in-person event after going virtual in 2021, due to the pandemic.

The 2022 gardening fair was held Feb. 19 at the Kirkwood Linn County Regional Center in Hiawatha.

Attendees learned from master gardeners and other experts about seed starting, succulent care, plant pests and more during the event, hosted by Iowa State University Extension Linn County Master Gardeners.

In addition to dozens of informational sessions, local vendors and nonprofit tables, the event featured hands-on workshops on projects such as gardening under glass, building native bee houses and creating fairy gardens.
